Desktop Virus Warning – Do You Need To Remove Desktop Virus?

Are you getting a desktop virus warning?  This has happened to the best of us.  We are minding our own business when one day we get on our computers and suddenly everything has changed!  We begin getting random pop up messages reading:

• Warning! Spyware detected on your computer!
• Your computer is infected!  Windows has detected spyware infection!
• You have a security problem.
• Dangerous trojan horses detected!

Even worse is the fact that sometimes your desktop background will also change.  It may show red caution and biohazard signs that your computer is under serious risk.  The virus will also block you from changing them back.

If you were not already aware, the desktop virus warning is fake.  But the trick is, your computer is infected and in serious danger.  But the virus is the one creating all this havoc!  This is called a rogue spyware program.  It gets onto your system and creates these fake pop ups to frighten you into downloading their software.  If infected you need to remove desktop virus and spyware as soon as possible.

How to remove desktop virus

There are essentially three types of this virus.  There are the registry entries which create the desktop warnings and change your settings.  The DLL files are usually the ones that create the fake pop up warnings in the center of your screen and the taskbar.  And typically if the rogue program has been installed you must remove the executable file (exe).

This can get quite complicated, however, especially for the computer novice.  I don’t recommend messing with the registry unless you know exactly what you are doing.  If you remove the wrong files you can cause even worse damage to your system.
