What is a good firewall that goes light on system resources?
I am currently using Webroot Desktop Firewall, but that thing is a resource hog. That and FF2 used between 300-700 thousand KB of memory. I ahve gone to FF3 and cut that down from say 250-500 thousand KB and I have noticed an extreme improvement in terms of speed, but now that I have FF3, WDF takes some of the space and it is currently using 347,868 K of memory and I just started up my computer.
I’ve heard of ones such as Online Armor, Comodo, and ZoneAlarm but how are they, like
1.Do they have a user-friendly interface?
2. Do they allow you to customize features easily?
3. Do they interfere with certain programs?
(WDF blocks pathping, tracert, and ping commands from the command prompt)
4.. Do they monitor outgoing and incoming connections?
I have a LinkSys WRT54G wireless router.
You can use ZoneAlarm to protect your PC from unauthorized access (in-coming and Out-going). It’s user friendly and low on resources.
