HELP! i have no privacy on my OWN computer. and its not due to a keylogger! what could it be?!?
my parents (im 21 btw), keep reading my msn messenger history (its turned off, so its not being saved) and my emails, and tracking my internet usage.
what could it be?! its not a keylogger, since i have software to watch for that!
its a laptop, but it was networked to the others comps in the house a while ago. apparently i dont have admin, on mine…but its MY laptop :S
a friend told me to just backup and re-format. but i still want to know HOW they are doing this. any ideas?
ok….just finished what D said to do. lets hope it helps… but it doesnt solve my questions of “HOW”? screen logger?! ive heard they exist… how do i know its on my computer then?

check the actual physical connection to the back of your computer. there could be a samall adapter that goes inbetween your keyboard and the computer. also u say u have software to detects keyloggers the software might be ignore keylogger software if its legit rather than malicious spyware. u can go to start –> run –> then type msconfig and look at the startup tab and the services tab(check the box that says hide all microsoft services) then u can see whats loaded with windows…just be very careful what you do in msconfig u can screw windows up if you start messing around. good free antispyware programs are spybot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html and ad adware http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ make sure to update them! good luck. EDIT: you just added it a laptop so ignore the physical connection aspect. if u can install zone alarm firewall turn trusted zone security to “high” and that will block the network connection. or under windows firewall turn off file and print sharing. start –> control panel –> security center –> windows firewall –> exceptions
